National Spelling Bee Winner
Snigdha Nandipati, graduated MBMA 2009 and went on to attend Francis Parker High School, when she won the 2012 Scripps National Spelling Bee. She is now a student at Yale.
Baseball | La Costa Canyon
Mickey Moniak is one of our MBMA alumni. The following is an excerpt from the Union -Tribune article titled March Prep Athletes of the Month:
Mickey Moniak was chosen first round draft pick from High School for the Major League Baseball Team the "Philadelphia Phillies". The senior batted .500 through the first 10 games, with six triples among his 18 hits. Moniak collected 16 RBIs and scored 10 times as the Mavericks raced to an 8-2 record.

Dana Mathewson | Tennis
Dana Mathewson graduated MBMA as a sixth grader in 2002. She competed in the 2018 US Open Wheelchair Competition, the 2016 Paralympics, and has been ranked #1 in US Woman's Wheelchair Tennis.
Ruby Ross graduated from Francis Parker as their 2016 valedictorian, performs her dramatic reenactment of Queen Elizabeth I for the National History Day California State Finals, which advanced her to the National level. She graduated from University of Chicago and now attends NYU School of Medicine.
Michael Armstrong is currently attending USC Thornton School of Music, after graduating from MBMA in 2007 and The Bishops School in 2013. Click the image to hear a sample from his debut album, "I Hope I'm Hearing Right".
*Anthony Rodriguez – graduated from MBMA 2005 also graduated San Diego State University with honors, as an Ambassador to the university last year. He is currently a professional advocate for children working for City Year, a branch of Americorp in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 15,000 children are at risk of dropping out of school and near-peer mentors like Anthony are helping these at ‘risk kids.’ Please read the following article written by Anthony as one of the 10 articles chosen out of 240 mentors, to represent City Year’s work on their blog.
Sahana Kumar – graduated from MBMA 2013, attended Francis Parker High School and is an avid writer, publishing her first book at the age of 12. She has received many honors, including the Aspirations Award from the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT). She is now attending Johns Hopkins University and works as a researcher at the Johns Hopkins Neuroengineering and Biomedical Instrumentation Lab.
